What is a widget?

A WordPress widget is a block of area on a web page that performs a specific function. Widgets create a simple way for the user to create structural and aesthetic control in customizing their WordPress theme. Widgets can be dragged and dropped into specific areas where you want them to appear—the header, sidebar, footer, etc. Widgets can contain various things, such as: a navigation menu, search bar, or recent blog posts.

Widget Variations:

There are 7 stylistic widget variations that add a unique style variation to the widget: box 1-3 and title 1-4. You can compound multiple variations together such as: box1 title3.
